In Perfect Gym, you can use the tokenization process to securely link payment cards to client profiles, enhancing both convenience and security. This process allows you to associate cards with client profiles using a payment terminal without entering all the card details into the system.

Before you start
Tokenization is a process that enables the linking of payment cards to client profiles using a payment terminal, without the need to enter all the card details into the system.
- The card is linked to the Member Profile in PGM, not to a specific membership. After linking the card to the Member Profile via the payment terminal, it must be manually linked to the appropriate membership.
- The card can be linked using a physical payment card or via a mobile phone using contactless technology.
In the case of payment with a physical card, the client must insert the card into the terminal and confirm the payment with a PIN. Simply bringing the physical card close to the terminal will not correctly link the card to the Client Profile.
- Linking the card via the payment terminal is only possible during the first payment for a membership. If an error occurs during the card linking process, the process cannot be repeated—the message in POSweb will only appear once. In such a case, the card must be added manually (more information on how to link the card can be found in the instructions below.
Instruction
STEP 1 - Enable Tokenization Function in POS
To enable the function of linking a payment card via the terminal.
- Log in to POS and click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner to go to settings.
- In the TransactionTerminal settings, change the ELAVON TCP/IP transaction terminal to the Elavon Smartlink Pro Transaction Terminal.
- Add the Terminal IP Address and tick the Tokenize Credit Card checkbox.
- Click Save configuration and restart Device Integrator.
STEP 2 - Link a Payment Card via the Terminal
- Add the payment plan to the Member Profile in PGM.
- Open the Member Profile in POSweb and select the Credit Card payment option.
- Ask the Client to insert the card or bring the phone close to the terminal. A message will appear asking, Do you want to save the card data to use it later for recurring payments?.
- Click Yes. After acceptance, a confirmation message will appear.
- Return to the Member Profile in PGM and go to the Data tab, then Payment Methods.
- Next to the payment card, click the three dots and assign the card to the appropriate membership.
