Introduction
From this troubleshooting article, you will learn how to resolve issues when Push notifications have not been delivered or there is a delay in Push delivery in the PGGO mobile app.
- This article will be helpful to PG Champion, Club Manager, Front Desk Manager and Club Owner.
Troubleshooting
When experiencing issues with Push notification delivery, use the following instructions. The first two refer to the PGM setup. However, you may find that the issue is located elsewhere. That is why we recommend also checking Android and iOS settings that might result in Push delivery error.
Mind that neither Apple nor Google guarantees the delivery or timely delivery of Push Notifications! It means that a Push can be delivered even up to 10 minutes after the event that has triggered it in the PGM, even if you set up everything as described below.
Check if the Automation Rule is Running
1. Go to the PGM -> Automation -> Automation rules.
2. Check if the Automation rule is running.
3. Check if the Action is set to Notification.
4. Check the Status e of interest.
If this rule is paused no notification will be sent.
Check if the Member has given Consent to User Agreements
1. Go to the PGM -> Automation -> Automation rules.
2. Select the given Automation Rule.
3. Click on the Edit button.
4. Check if the Automation Rule needs any User Agreement.
5. If so, check if the member has given their consent to User Agreement by going to the PGM -> Clients -> Club members.
6. Select the given member from the Members List ist and enter their Profile.
7. Click on the Data tab.
8. Enter Agreements. Here, you can see if the member has given appropriate consent to User Agreement. If NO is selected, that member did not allow for receiving Push notifications and that should be the reason why they are not delivered.
Android Device
Mind that the instruction provided here is only indicative since every system version and every manufacturer has those settings implemented slightly different. This instruction is made on Xiaomi Redmi 9 with Android 10.
Check Application Settings
1. Go to the application list and long-click on the app icon.
2. From the dropdown menu, choose App info.
3. Open Notifications and configure them for allowing receiving notifications.
4. Go to General notifications - this is a channel in which the device gets the notifications from the Automation in PGM.
- Choose if the notifications should be visible at all, should be visible on lock screen and so on.
5. Go to Lock Screen Settings and allow notifications on it.
6. Open the Settings in the app and choose Notifications.
7. Open every encircled option and check if your app has notifications allowed - if not turn the switch on.
Be aware that 'do not disturb', 'battery saving', 'stamina' (on Sony devices) modes can interfere with showing notifications.
8. To receive notifications you must allow your application to overcome battery saving restrictions.
- Go to battery saver (open settings app and type 'battery' in search bar).
- Click on the Settings button.
- Click apps batery saver in the menu.
- Type your app name in search bar and click on your application.
- Choose no restrictions from the list.
