Introduction
All barcode scanners that are working in emulate COM port. In the device manager they are seen as “Ports (COM & LPT). In the PosWeb you have to check the “Barcode use fixed port’ checkbox and insert the right port COM and a baud rate (commonly used baud rate is 9600).
Instruction
It is always better to configure the reader in COM mode than in keypad mode because:
- you don't need to configure any suffixes / prefixes
- you avoid potential problems with the keyboard
Configuration
- On the system, install the USB HSM drivers. They should be downloaded from: W:\Honeywell installations
- Install a program to configure the Ezconfig reader e.g. from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0V2mboTQ6w3andwcE5CRUhLS00
- After installation, you have a Chrome shortcut on the desktop. Close all Chrome windows and run the program.
- Select the connected device (the reader is to be connected via USB at this point) and then at the bottom → Configure Device
- Change the interface to USB serial CDC emulation, then click "Save to device", close the browser, detach / pin the reader.
- In POSweb, set the barcode scanner to Voyager, select the COM port under which it is connected (you can check it in the device manager or control panel) and save / restart DI.
Examples
- Set up for Skyfitness - Honeywell Voyager MS9520
1. Restore the scanner to default settings by scanning individual barcodes in the following order:
-
Set up for all devices
