Introduction
This article will show you how to use Vouchers by club members during Product purchase in the Client Portal 2. The scenario is that a club member, who already has an account in the Client Portal 2, would like to buy Products in the CP2 -> Shop -> Buy now tab.
Mind, this is NOT the Voucher purchase during the registration / contract upgrade process.
In the Use Case part, this article shows as well how to use a Voucher when purchasing the Product.
- This article will show you steps to be made when configuring a Voucher that will be used during Product purchase in the Client Portal 2. The use case of such process has also been provided.
- This article will be helpful to PG Champion, Administrator, Sales Manager, Club Manager and Club Owner.
Before you start
Basic knowledge of Products and Vouchers is required. This type of configuration has to be done by an advanced system user!
The following Client Portal 2 features must be enabled:
- ClientPortal.Feature.UseVoucher - for CP2
- ClientPortal.Feature.UseVoucher.Kiosk - for CP2 in Kiosk mode
- ClientPortal.Feature.UseVoucher.Tablet - for CP2 in Tablet mode
- ClientPortal.Feature.ProductSale

Use Case
Example: user gets a Voucher code "towel50" and would like to use it. This voucher has a product discount of 50% for Towel service available at the club.
User goes to CP2 -> Shop -> Buy now
What the User will see depends on the configuration - it can be either Product Catalog where products are grouped by categories or the Product screen where all the products are visible without any grouping
In Category 4 we have set up one product - Towel service - for which the user has a Voucher
User can now add the Towel service to cart by clicking Add to cart button
Now they can decide whether thay want to add another product to their shopping cart by clicking Continue shopping or if they want to go to checkout by clicking Go to the shopping cart
At checkout User will see all products that have been added to cart. Field for inputing the Discount code is located on the right hand side, under Your order summary, under the total price of all items.
The User is able to type the Voucher code and click on the Apply button. This will make a validation that this Voucher exists and can be used.
Common errors when using voucher code in CP2 product purchase by a CP2 user
When a User types a Voucher code that does not exist they will see the following error:
When a User types a Voucher code that does exist but is meant to be used on another product they will see the following:
This is a known bug and our developer team is working to resolve the issue.
Troubleshooting
If the Voucher is not working correctly for the chosen products make sure you have it configured properly.
Product troubleshooting
1. Go to Sale -> POS Management -> Product
2. The product has to be configured as follows:
- Under Type: either Service or Bundle has to be selected in order for the product to show up in Client Portal 2
- Under Available for: ClientPortal has to be ticked
Product discount troubleshooting
1. Go to PGM -> Sale -> POS Management -> Product discount
2. The Product discount used in Vouchers should be configured as follows:
- Under Start date: make sure you have a correct date when you want the Voucher to be active
- Under Discount type: this can be set only to Percent discount or Amount discount. Other types are not supported in Vouchers for CP2 Products.
- Under Discount value: make sure you specified the amount of the discount
- Make sure you have selected Activated by voucher checkbox. You can also provide the minimum and maximum number of products that are required for the Voucher to work
- Make sure that you have clicked the Insert button and linked the discount to the desired Product, Category or All Products. If the Voucher is meant only for one specific product as in our Use case, select Product and choose the appropriate product that you want to be linked with the discount.
Voucher type troubleshooting
1. Go to PGM -> Marketing -> Client acquisition -> Voucher Type
2. The Voucher Type has to be configured as follows:
- Under Restrictions: Not for sale has to be chcecked
- CAN BE USED BY: at least one of the options has to be checked - choose which type of members/guests can use this Voucher
- Under Benefits:
- Activates product discount has to be checked
- PRODUCT DISCOUNT: the appropriate product discount has to be chosen
Product catalog troubleshooting
1. Go to PGM -> Sale -> POS Management -> Product catalog
2. The category under which you grouped your product has to be configured as follows:
- In CATEGORY DETAILS tab, under Visible in the application: make sure that ClientPortal checkbox is checked
- In PRODUCTS tab: make sure you have added the product so that it shows up on the list
