Introduction
This article will describe how the contract discounts will work on contracts for the following discount types:
Chosen interval scope for fixed amount
This contract discount will change the price to a fixed amount set in the contract discount.
Chosen interval scope lower by amount
The contract discount will lower the membership fee by the amount set in the contract discount.
For example, if membership fee is $20.00, and this contract discount of $1.00 is applied, the membership fee for this interval is $19.00.
Chosen interval scope lower by percent
The contract discount will lower the membership fee by the amount set in the contract discount.
For example, if membership fee is $20.00, and this contract discount of 50% is applied, the membership fee for this interval is $10.00.
Contract discounts are created in PGM->Sale->Contract discounts.
Before you start
These contract discounts refer to intervals. These intervals are set up in the payment plan and refer to how frequent charges will appear.
Interval #1 is always going to be the first payment interval from contract start date. In the pictures below the first full payment interval for this contract is 11/01/2021.
Note: when adding a contract discount to a contract on the member profile, the date is also visible.
Adding contract discounts
When adding a new contract or editing an existing contract, during the contract screen you can press + Add discount to add a new discount.
Use the drop-down box to select your discount.
For discounts where chosen interval scope is needed. Select the intervals you wish to discount. The scope will only discount transactions between these interval ranges.
Note: You can only discount future transactions, not past transactions.
Press Next and continue with editing the contract.
Contract transactions
Using the following scope, the contract discount will apply to the following transactions within that date range. It is highly recommended not to change the starting date range if you are editing the discount.
Hints
- Contract discounts are unique per contract. If you wish to apply the same contract discount over multiple periods, then it is recommended to have additional contract discounts created and allow the contract discounts to be used with each other.
