Introduction
This article describes the configuration of Zebra DS2208 which is a commonly used scanner for barcodes and QR codes. The scanner reads barcodes and QR codes so it can function as both, a simple barcode scanner and a check-in reader. QR codes however can be scanned only when their communication with the PC is with a COM port.
- This article will help you set up the Zebra DS2208 barcode and QR code scanner.
- This article will be helpful to PG Champion, Administrator, Club Manager, IT Department and Club Owner.
Instruction
We recommend configuring Zebra DS2208 by scanning the configuration barcodes. However, you can also configure it in 123Scan application. Irrespective of the option chosen, finish the process with performing Configuration in PosWeb.
OPTION 1
RECOMMENDED - Scanning configuration barcodes

Mind that barcodes should be printed, as scanning from a monitor DOES NOT always work!

3. Check the COM port and LPT port.
4. Memorise which ports are currently present in the Device Manager.
For example, on the below screen, only Port 3 is currently in use.
5. Scan Scan Options barcode.
6. Scan Data Suffix barcode.
7. Scan Enter barcode.
8. Scan SSI over USB CDC barcode.

OPTION 2
Configuration in 123Scan application
1. If you are sure the scanner is connected properly, download Zebra's configuration management program 123scan.
- For Windows 10, Zebra does not require any additional drivers.
- For Windows 7, you should install the Core scanner driver.
2. When the download is complete, proceed with the 123scan installation.
3. In the 123can select My scanner is connected via USB cable
4. See if the scanner displays in the 123scan.
5. If so, proceed with creating the configuration file - Create new configuration file
6. The only thing you need to change is the Cable connection set to: SSI over USB CDC.
7. Modify data to append an enter key at the end of the scanned data.
8. If the configuration is ready, upload it to your scanner.
Note that the scanner will appear in the Device Manager only if you turn off 123scan.
