Introduction
This article describes how to install the GAT Net Writer 6000 access control reader. The article is intended for club administrators and IT people who are responsible for preparing the club for proper day-to-day operation.
Instruction
1. Open the Device manager. The device to be connected should be in unknown devices.
2. Right-click on this device to update the driver. Once properly installed, you will find it in controllers, but still as the unknown device.
3. Update the driver for the second time for the USB Serial Port, using the exact same driver as before. Once properly installed, you will find the device in both the controllers and COM ports.
4. If you are using a 64-bit system, install GAT Direct Connect. Open the POSweb and in Additional device, select Use Direct Connect as default. The installation package should be called GAT-Direct Connect V020001.rar
5. In POSweb, enter the following settings:
- GAT silent mode - activating it causes the reader to stay silent while card scanning.
- isGantnerMifareOnlineSystem - mark For online systems only.
- CARD reader FID - computer IP, on which GAT Relaxx has been installed (online lockers system), the name of the port after the : is 8236.
- CARD reader FID_KEY - site key, which you can find in the GAT Lock/GAT Relaxx (online lockers system).
- If the club does not have the online lockers system use the same settings as for the online system, however do not change any of the IP addresses. Leave local host in default setting.
Configuration examples
Below you will see five examples of device configurations for the cases described in point 5. above.
- GAT Writer 5250 set up with offline lockers - the date will be saved on the card.
- GAT Writer 6000 set up with online lockers - authorization list.
- GAT Writer 6000 set up without lockers system - card read at the Front Desk only.
