Introduction
This guide will help you increase prices of payment plans and for all contracts attached to the payment plan from a set date.
Please read this guide carefully.
Before you start
- This is for all payment plans for the membership fee only.
- This will only change the price of the full membership price from date X. It will not pro-rata values from X date to the next payment interval date.
- If you wish to change the value of the administration fee or joining fee, please create a new payment plan.
- If you are changing the membership fee of course based payment plans, this process will only work for Cost per interval methods. For Cost per class method, please use the enrolment rule.
Instruction
This instruction guide is for changing payment plan membership fees in bulk. To change a single payment plan membership fee follow this article.
Note: Using the bulk price increase function is effective if you are increasing a number of payment plans by the same price/percentage
To increase the price of payment plans in bulk, go to PGM->Settings->Support Tools.
Click on Payment Plans.
Using the filters, find the payment plans you wish to raise the price of the membership fee.
Active - Choose the payment plans between All, Active or Inactive.
Cash - Choose the payment plans between All, Paid in cash or not paid in cash.
DD - Choose the payment plans between All, Paid by Direct Debit or Not paid by Direct Debit.
CC - Choose the payment plans between All, Paid by CC Debit or Not paid by CC Debit.
Select the memberships you wish to increase by putting a tick in the box to the left of the individual id numbers of each payment plan.
To select all payment plans, put a tick in the box next to the heading Id.
Press Update Selected.
Type - Choose between a percentage increase or price increase.
Amount - Enter in the increased amount or percentage that the price of the membership fee will be from the effective from date (E.g. increase by $2.00 or 3%).
Effective From - Enter in a date where the price rise will start from.
VAT rate - Select the tax rate used for the membership fees.
Once entered in, press Simulate to preview the new price. This will appear in the New Price column.
The example below is increasing the price of the payment plans by $2.00.
The example below is increasing the percentage of the payment plans by 3%.
Once entered in, press Save to save this line.
The effective from date will charge the next membership fee at the new rates, this will not pro-rata the values between the membership fees.
How does this look on the club member profile for direct debit/recurring memberships.
In this example, we have the payment plan "Generic Fortnightly" having a price increase on 01/09/2021 from $40.00 to $41.00.
For this member, who has a standard contract with no contract discounts attached to the contract, they will get the price rise on the next payment interval due date (13/09/2021). There will be no pro-rata charges done in-between these dates from the price rise date to the first payment interval due date.
For this member who has a contract discount against their contract (Percentage discount or amount discount only)
For contracts where there is a contract discount using fixed value, this will not modify the contract with the new price until either the discount ends or the contract ends.
Note: If you are using the contract discount "Set at fixed value", this will override all price modifications and keep the price at the fixed value.
How does this look on the club member profile for upfront memberships.
In this example, we have the payment plan "Generic 12m Upfront" having a price increase on 01/09/2021 from $500.00 to $510.00.
Any member who has a contract start date before this date will not be affected by this price rise.
If the member contract start date falls on or after the payment increase date, they will get the new price.
Note: If a member signs up to a contract before the price increase for that payment plan has been implemented on PerfectGym, for a start date after the price rise is supposed to start. Their contract will be recalculated and show debt/credit as there will be a variance to what they paid to the new contract price.
Hints
If you make a mistake completing the new price schedule, you can delete the new 'schedule' within the actual enrolment rule definition in PGM > Sale >Payment plans. More information can be found here.
