Introduction
This article shows detailed steps of creating Parent-Child Family relations known also as Family flow within the Client Portal. You will learn two different ways you can use for this process. Regardless of which one you decide to use, they will both include: setting up the Parent and Child accounts, connecting them and establishing the Contract payer and selecting the payment source.
- This article will be helpful to advanced PGM users like PG Champion, Administrator, Club Manager or Club Owner.
Be aware that:
1. In the Client Portal, you can create only 1 type of relation which is Parent-Child. There is no option to create Spouse-Spouse relationship.
2. Packet's elements are always a part of the main membership, so there is no option to set up a price for this payment plan.
There are 2 options to create family relations:
- Using packet's element - during adding a child, you will see only these payment plans which are marked as a "packet's element".
- Without the packet element - you can choose for your child any contract you want.
In both scenarios, first the parent account has to be created and then the child's account
Before you start
Make sure you have read this article: How to create Family Payment Plans before proceeding with the Instructions' steps. It is essential, that you know how to create Family Payment Plans and had your Payment Plans for Family Relations already created and ready to use in Client Portal before having assigned them to any of the Family members.
Otherwise, you will not be able to achieve the expected business results.
Instruction for 1st option - with Packet element
Once you have created two payment plans - Packet and Packet's elements - go to the Client Portal and create your account using the Packet payment plan.
- Click on the Join now button.
- Select the club.
- Choose Packet membership, in this scenario it's the Family package contract.
- Fill in personal and contact data.
- Select payment source - credit card, direct debit or payment gateway - optional.
- Use the email and password you provided to login to the Client portal and go to the Account -> Friends and family -> Add family member
- Go through the same registration flow as for parent member. Start with selecting the club.
- In the offer step, you will see only these payment plans which are marked as a Packet element or create free account if setting is enabled.
- Fill in the child's personal and contact data. If necessary, accept user agreements.
- The summary window will be displayed with an information that the account has been created.
When a family package (contract) ends, the relationship also ends unless there is another contract linked to the child's account with the parent's payment source
Instruction for 2nd option - Non-packet's element
The flow for non-packet's element is almost the same as the one shown above. The only change comes with the child registration, where you will have an option to select any payment plan visible in the Client portal. This example uses a different parent account with already added bank account details.
1. Select the payment plan for the child.
2. Fill in the child's personal and contact data. If necessary, accept user agreements. On the next page, the summary view will be displayed.
3. Select the payment source and the payer of the child's contract. You can select the parent as a head payer or add child's credit card or bank account.
Once you have chosen the payer and paid for the contract that's all. You can use system and book classes, courses or facility for you and your children

It can be used to allow access within x seconds of club member when entering in via access control with connecting payment plan or contract extras by use of the Club Service Type called 'FriendAccess. Also, to enable a Friend relation in the Client Portal, you need to have a specific setting turned on in the PGM: ClientPortal.Feature.AddFriend.
Currently, adding a Friend relation is available in the Client Portal only.
