Introduction
This article is to help you in choosing the best offer configuration for a class-based business model, taking into consideration data availability in Widgets and Reports. You will find here a list of advantages and disadvantages of two examples of the club offer configuration: one based on the Products and designed for Guests and the second based on Payment Plans and designed for Members. You will see, where in the Reports and Widgets you may or may not expect the data on Products and Members/Guests and, based on that, how you can report the club performance and results. We also also take into account the user-friendliness of the purchase flow to help you decide on a given business model.
For the sake of this article, keep in mind that Guest is a club offer user who does not have a Contract/Payment Plan assigned to their account. Member is a club offer user, who does have a Contract/Payment Plan assigned.

Description
Products configuration (based on Guests)
- Advantages:
- Fast and easy to purchase by the client, user-friendly registration process.
- When they use up products, they can easily buy some more.
- Possibility to purchase more products, before the previous package expires.
- Disadvantages:
- Lack of widgets dedicated to the Guest who purchased products. However, you can pull this information from the User Products report. Also in the All Members report, the number of the guests will be displayed, if you have ticked the Show guest checkbox.
- Lack of the standard Freeze option. However, you are able to change product validity, which acts like freezes.
Payment plan configuration (based on Members)
- Advantage:
- Widgets will pull the information about the members. However, there is no widget in the PGM system that tells how many products left or used are on the state.
- Disadvantages:
- Not a user-friendly purchase flow.
- Difficulties with purchasing another contract with the new class packs before the previous contract end date. If a member wishes to purchase a new contract, the front desk will need to take several steps to allow them to do it. If the front desk is not involved, the contract will only start after the end of the previous one, which could mean a break up to even one month or more.
