Introduction
This use case article demonstrates one of the ways to manage your Warehouse stock efficiently. It all starts with identifying the type of Products with short expiry date, i.e. food like sandwiches, salads or protein cocktails and discounting them on time. This way, you will be able to sell more Products, save money on efficiently made procurement and attract your members with discounts. The whole process is clear and simple however, it requires you to use the Warehouse in the PGM.

Before you start
- Make sure you know how to create Products and Product Discounts in the PGM.
- Make sure you know how to use the Warehouse documents.
Use Case
We are creating a Product, which is Chicken Salad. We are adding 20 pieces on stock with expiry date 3 days from the current date. We will be using 30% Discount. Below you will find step-by-step instructions on the whole process.
Assumptions
- Product name - Chicken salad
- Product discount - Short expiry date -30%
- Company - it is a product supplier called Fresh Food
- Warehouse document - Good Received Receipt
Steps
STEP 1
Create Product in the PGM.
- If you need some help, check how to create a physical Product.
Add Product to POSweb.
- This way, you will be able to sell it later.
- You may want to check how to add that Product to POSweb.
STEP 2
Create a Warehouse document for the Product and add it on stock.
- If you are adding this Product to Warehouse for the very first time, you need to add the product supplier's company name.
- When adding the Product on stock, remember to fill in these fields:
- Expiration date - Enter the expiry date of the Product.
- Add new element - Select the Product, enter its quantity, vat rate and other details.

Make sure you choose the Product that has already been created in point 1.
STEP 3
Check which Products have a short expiration date.
- Check it in the Warehouse state.
STEP 4
Create Product Discount.
- It will be visible on POSweb in form of % icon.
- In case of trouble, check how to add a Product Discount.
STEP 5
Sell the discounted Product.
- Check how to sell Product on POSweb.
STEP 6
Check Report to see how many Products have been sold with Discount.
- Go to POS transaction log details Report and check columns with Product name and Discount.
Hints
What can you do if you haven't sold all discounted Products?
- Return them to the supplier by using Goods Release Receipt.
- Remove them from the stock by performing warehouse inventory and using Inventory - .
