Introduction
In Perfect Gym, ensuring compliance with local regulations is highly important for smooth club operations. This feature improves how the software handles the age of majority for Canadian fitness clubs. Instead of relying only on a global system age setting, the system now automatically checks the selected Canadian province to decide if legal guardian information is required when registering or editing a minor's profile. This supports the registration processes and ensures legal accuracy when collecting personal data and signing agreements.
In this article, you will learn how the province-specific age-of-majority updates affect various application forms across Perfect Gym Manager (PGM), Client Portal and POSWeb.
This article will be helpful for PG Champions, Support Agents, and Receptionists.
Before you start
Ensure your system settings are properly configured to include Canadian addresses and provinces. Additionally, verify that staff members have the necessary system permissions to create members, guests, and manage contracts.
Feature description
The system logic has been updated so that the requirement for legal guardian information is directly tied to the specific province where the customer lives.
Age of Majority by Province (Canada):
Age 18: Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan
Age 19: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia
Depending on the province selected, the following application forms and modules will automatically adjust to ask for legal guardian details if the customer is under the designated age:
Perfect Gym Manager (PGM)
Member creation wizard: The system checks the selected province during the basic data step. If the user is underage for that province, the legal guardian steps must be completed.
Guest creation wizard: Similar to members, the basic data and legal guardian steps require guardian details based on the selected province.
Client Portal
Standard registration form: The personal data step checks the province before displaying the member or guest legal guardian fields.
Family registration form: The personal data step verifies the selected province before showing the legal guardian fields for family members or guests.
Profile edit form: When a user edits their personal data, the legal guardian section will dynamically update depending on their selected province.
POSWeb
New member / guest creation form: Legal guardian requirements instantly update when the province selection changes.
Add contract form: When selling a contract to an existing person, the system references that person’s specific province to check the age of majority and determine if a legal guardian is needed.
Upgrade guest to member form: The legal guardian requirements update dynamically based on the guest's selected province.
Agreement Documents
Member contract agreements and Guest agreements: The generated documents will correctly format and require minor/legal guardian information using the specific age of majority for the customer's province.
Hints
Always ensure the correct province is selected first when filling out address details. Because the system is dynamic, the legal guardian fields will appear or disappear automatically based entirely on the province you choose and the date of birth provided.
