Introduction
This is a thorough six steps instructions on what needs to be done to create a Group in a Course, for the very first time. Steps 1-5 are to be done only once, if you are going to use the same Payment plan for each of the enrollment rules. Then, you would only need to create the new Groups and/or Semesters.
As this article presents an advanced configuration, to be able to go smoothly through the below steps, you need to be familiar with how Classes and Sales (Payment plans) work.
This article will be useful in case of the very first Group configuration, where you have nothing configured in the system.
This is not a group configuration article, which can be found here and in the links below, in each of the steps separately.

Before you start
- Remember to have all the below settings and permissions visible:
- Age limits
- Activity category
- Trainers with specific levels
Instructions
STEP 1
Set up payment plan
1. Go to the PGM -> Sales -> Payment plans.
2. The Courses module is based on Payment plan configuration. Regardless of the way a member pays for the Course - either per a single Class or per the whole Interval - the first step is to set up the Payment plan of the Course type. Here, you can find the instructions on the configuration of a payment plan for the course with all details.
STEP 2
Set up activity categories and age limits
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Activity categories / Age limits
2. Here, you find the detailed instructions on how to set up Activity category.

STEP 3
Create Class category
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Class category
2. Here, you will find the article which explains the details of the Class category segment.
It's important to mark that the Classes are additionally paid.
STEP 4
Create a class type linked with class category
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Class types
2. Assign the Class to the previously created Class category. Here, you will find more information about class types.
Remember to allocate the already created Activity categories to a specific Level.
STEP 5
Create Semesters
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Semesters
2. Here, you will find the detailed instructions on how to add a new semester.
You can skip this step if you are not working with semesters.
STEP 6
Create a group with classes
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Groups
2. Now, you have to create a group for a specific term with the specific classes and the specific level. More information information on how to do it can be found here and in this article.
Don't forget to add classes to the group!
STEP 7
Create enrolment rules
1. Go to the PGM -> Classes -> Enrolment rules
2. This article will guide you on how to create a new rule from a scratch.
