Introduction
Customers can now enroll a student or child into a program via the client portal and select the "Trial Option." This new feature provides flexibility for users to experience the program before committing, ensuring a better fit for their needs.
This article will be useful for all system administrators and PG Champions interested in expanding the offer for free and trial lessons.
Before you start
Configuration of courses requires a wider knowledge of Courses module, please make sure you are familiar with whole process
First, you must configure the enrolment definition with the marked option " Allow member to book a trial lesson" to use a trial lesson.
The option is available from R93 version in PG Manager and Customer Portal
Feature description
After adding the option of a trial lesson, every user enrolling to the dedicated group will have an option to use their first class for free. This additional information will show on the Summary Tab in the Customer Portal.
As there is no Summary step in PG Manager, a trial lesson will be added automatically with the first lesson for free.
A user can cancel the enrolment to the whole group following attendance in a trial lesson for free before the second class.
New tag to identify the user with Trial lesson
Members enrolled in any group with a trial lesson will have 'trial lesson' as a tag in the following areas:
- with a tag Trial lesson on Class event within the group on Classes Timetable in Members enrolled to the group section
- with a tag Trial lesson in Group configuration (PGM -> Classes -> Courses -> Groups -> Groups details) in the Members tab

Members enrolled in any group with a trial lesson will have 'trial' added to their transaction in their profile in PGM (PGM > go to member's profile > Transactions > Contract):

You can send the notifications to user after Trial session is used and inform them about start of regular payment. To achieve that please go to Automation -> Automation Rules and choose notification "User enrolled to classes group" and choose token "IS_TRIAL_LESSON_USED" .
