Introduction
The configuration of a medical certificate access logic can help you to control the access to your club only for club members with valid documents. This setup will allow you to check if the document is valid otherwise access to the gym will not be provided. For Medical Certificates a custom Access Logic has been created in PGM so you can use it in your club.

Before you start
You will need to have access to view and edit custom attributes, this is found in System Permissions, more information can be found here.

From the R90 system version onwards, all new databases in the Italian market are implemented with this setting by default.
Instruction
How to configure a Medical certificate
STEP 1
The first step is to create a category Medical Certificate, to which you will add types specifying the certificate validation.
1. Go to PGM -> Settings and click on Custom Attributes.
2. Press Add category to create a new category. This will group multiple custom attributes together.
3. Fill in the fields with the following data:
- Code - add the code name - Medical Certificate.
- Category Type - select User.
4. Press Save to add the category.
STEP 2
Now you need to decide which data you want to gather from your members. In this case, we created the following types:
- Medical Certificate Start Date
- Medical Certificate Number
- Medical Certificate End Date
- Temporary Medical Certificate Number
- Temporary Medical Certificate Start Date
- Temporary Medical Certificate End Date
The configuration of the Medical Certificate Start Date type is mandatory, other types are for informational purposes only.
1. To add a new custom attribute in the category, press the ●●● icon next to the category and press Add type.
Medical Certificate Start Date is mandatory. Fill in the appropriate fields:
- Medical Certificate Start Date
- Data Type - select text.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Medical Certificate Number.
- Translation - in the language you use on your site, enter the type name Medical Certificate Start Date, this will be displayed in PGM and Client Portal.
Press Save to continue.
The following types are optional, decide which of them you want to add and fill in the appropriate data.
- Medical Certificate Number
- Data Type - text.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Medical Certificate Number.
- Translation - type Medical Certificate Number.
- Medical Certificate End Date
- Data Type - Date.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Medical Certificate End Date.
- Translation - type Medical Certificate End Date.
- Temporary Medical Certificate Number
- Data Type - Text.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Temporary Medical Certificate Number.
- Translation - type Temporary Medical Certificate Number.
- Temporary Medical Certificate Start Date
- Data Type - Date.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Temporary Medical Certificate Start Date.
- Translation - type Temporary Medical Certificate Start Date.
- Temporary Medical Certificate End Date
- Data Type - Date.
- Is visible on - select Membership Portal and POSweb.
- Code - type Temporary Medical Certificate End Date.
- Translation - type Temporary Medical Certificate End Date.
After proper configuration, you should see the exact list of types of custom attributes.
STEP 3
After creating custom attributes you need to check if the access policy is correctly configured.
1. Go to PGM -> Settings -> Access logic.
2. Press pencil icon next to the Entrance Access Logic to edit it.
3. Edit fields listed below:
Access policy - select Custom
Custom access policy - type ItalianMedicalCertificate
Press Save to update the Access Logic Definition.
This Access Logic is dedicated to Italian market, so the custom access policy has to be set to ItalianMedicalCertificate, otherwise, this logic won't be running.
Hints
- It is very important to select the visibility and translation fields, otherwise, this option won't be visible on members' profiles.
Note that Medical Certificate Start Date must be set before today's date or at the latest with today's date, otherwise, access to the gym will not be granted until the start date.
- After adding the document, information about its validity will be visible on the member's profile under Data tab.
